Proof positive. That’s what the announcement that Panavision will be opening a new state-of-the-art facility
in Atlanta is. It’s yet another sign that the burgeoning Atlanta film industry is not a figment of the
production industry’s imagination. The opening of the midtown Atlanta facility means that local filmmakers
will have greater access to the cameras they want to shoot on - whether they’re shooting film or digital. It
also means that production companies will be able to source more of what they need for productions
shooting in Georgia rather than importing equipment. Panavision Atlanta is slated to open for business in February 2011.
