Women’s Film Preservation Fund :: WFPF
The WFPF was founded in 1995 by New York Women in Film & Television, (NYWIFT), in association with the Museum of Modern Art and American Movie Classics. And was the first effort by women in the industry to preserve a vital part of our cultural legacy.
The WFPF is dedicated to:
- Identifying and preserving films in which women had a significant creative role;
- Presenting these restored films to increase awareness of women's work in film, and of the necessity for film preservation;
- Contributing to an understanding of the importance of women in film history; and
- Working with other organizations with similar goals and sharing resources and information with them.
Members of WIFTI may apply for this fund and may be subject to additional eligibility requirements.
